ceilings + beams

one of the houses we are looking at has beamed ceilings.  this house is heath's favorite because of its backyard....it's like a park!  i love the ceilings, but i'm not sold on the rest of the house just yet.

four poster beds

i have a four poster bed that my dad had made for me when i was in the fourth grade.  it means so much to me now that he has passed.  it is beautiful, but shows some wear over the years.  

when we move i would love to put it in our guest bedroom, but need to conceal some of the scratches.

playroom + bonus room

my husband and i are looking at a house with a large bonus room upstairs.

i have SO many plans for this room if that is the house we get.

i would love to make one side a studio, but the other side a playroom.  we might need to put a bed up there somewhere too.  surely that can all fit right?

hopefully heath & i will be in a house very soon.  when we do get in one i can't wait to decorate with my stuff that has been in storage for over a year, and new things.

we hate our current rug.

it was an inexpensive purchase for our apartment in nola & we loved the look.  plain sisal.  

but it gets sisal hair everywhere.

our first purchase in our new house will be a new rug.

i've been eyeing stripe/chevron stripes for about 4 years now.  not sure if i will still love them when we get into a house, but the odds are looking good right now.

i'm going with either a cotton rug or an outdoor rug this time.  i like the thin aspect of the sisals, but the others don't get the hair on you.  neither do really expensive sisals.
